At Beier, we are deeply committed to advancing small, medium, and micro-sized enterprises (SMMEs) as a driving force for economic growth and development in South Africa. Central to our mission is actively collaborating with and integrating local SMMEs into our value chain, fostering partnerships that contribute to sustainable economic transformation.

A key focus of our efforts is empowering Black women entrepreneurs, reflecting our dedication to inclusivity and social progress. One notable example of this commitment is our partnership with Silokotho, a Black woman-owned SMME based in Umlazi, KwaZulu-Natal. Led by the dynamic Khanyisile Kunene, Silokotho plays a vital role in our operations by producing the polypropylene bags used to package Beier Envirotec filter bags. Under Khanyisile's leadership, a skilled team of seamstresses not only delivers exceptional craftsmanship but also benefits from meaningful employment opportunities.

Khanyisile’s passion for making a difference extends beyond her business. A firm believer in giving back, she reinvests her profits into expanding Silokotho, creating more job opportunities for women and youth in her community. This empowers individuals to support their families and contribute to local economic growth. Additionally, she sponsors an orphan care program, further demonstrating her commitment to uplifting vulnerable members of her community. In alignment with our mission to support SMMEs, Beier is also helping Silokotho broaden its reach and access new markets.

Furthermore, many components of our day-to-day operations, including the manufacturing of safety footwear components and uppers, are outsourced to Black, often woman-owned, SMMEs.
